I am so excited to share this with you all. This is Aaron's first woodworking project and I think he did a great job! I have always liked the Pottery Barn collection, but no way am I paying that much for a bench and a shelf. Somewhere along the lines I found the blog, Knock-Off Wood. This lady is a genius! Makes and shares plans for all kinds of furniture. Gives you step by step directions even down to the exact cut you will need to make for each of yours boards. Aaron was loving the site too and decided to take on a project. Since we actually have a mudroom area in our new house, he decided to tackle this bench first.
I think it looks beautiful. I can't believe it is his first project. He has even already asked me what I want him to build next! So even though there were several lessons learned through this project, he must like this whole building thing a little bit. :)
I need to find much prettier baskets or bins, because our sad looking blue canvas ones are just not doing this bench justice right now!
