Week long birthday

Our little Ella Bear is 2! Her birthday was of course officially on the 20th, but she basically had a week-long celebration. It started with her birthday party at Grandma and Papa Van's house last Sunday. Aunt Carrie, Justin, Grammy and Papa Friedel, and Aunt Em were all able to come to the party. We had such a good time. Aunt Emilie of course made the awesome cake. Ella wasn't so sure of everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to her and climbed up into my arms until the song was done, then hopped right back down to blow out her candles. She loved all her presents: puzzles, clothing, baby doll, tea party set, dishes, and minivan. Thank you everyone!

On her actual birthday we went down and had lunch with Daddy at Red Robin. They sang "Happy Birthday" to her and she got a yummy ice cream sundae. After we dropped Daddy off at work we went back to the mall and she made her new friend Ginger at Build-A-Bear Workshop. The workers there also sang "Happy Birthday" to her. We went and played in the children's play area at Jordan Creek before heading home. Sadly I have no pictures of the actual day except on my cell phone. :(

On Saturday night we went over to Uncle Brad and Aunt Jenny's for yet another birthday celebration. Aunt Jenny made her a yummy funfetti cake and got her a special 2 year-old candle. As this was the 4th "Happy Birthday" that was sung to her she just kind of made faces at us out of the corner of her eye, and she did a good job blowing out her candle (with a little help from daddy).

Thank you so much everyone for helping make Ella's second birthday so special!

So I knew the Funfetti cake would never compare to the amazing Aunt Emilie cakes, but it just looks sad compared to the beautiful butterfly birthday cake. Thank goodness for Emilie's cakes for our special celebrations.
